Privacy Policy
Recipe Heaven is a local-first and offline-enabled recipe keeper, meal planner, and shopping list. Your recipes are usable on your device and sync through our hosted sync service when you are online so they can be available across your signed-in devices. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Data we collect
If you create an account, Clerk handles authentication. Recipe Heaven stores the information needed to run your account, such as your user identity, app settings, recipes, cookbooks, weekly meal plans, shopping lists, household and sharing membership, and AI credit usage.
We do not sell your personal data, and your recipes are yours.
Local-first sync
Recipe Heaven is designed to keep core cooking workflows responsive and offline-enabled. When you are signed in and online, your recipes, plans, and lists sync through a hosted sync provider so changes can be backed up and reflected across your devices.
Because sync is part of the product, your content is not stored only on your device. It is also processed by our sync provider for your account.
AI features
AI capture and remix are opt-in. When you capture a recipe from a link, photo, or voice, or ask for a remix, Recipe Heaven sends the relevant URL content, image, audio, transcript, or recipe text to server-side AI processing so it can return a structured, editable recipe.
Photo capture runs only when you explicitly choose a photo: the selected image is compressed on your device and the compressed bytes are sent for AI processing solely to read the recipe. Recipe Heaven does not store the source photo — only the structured recipe you choose to save is kept.
AI output can be wrong. You should review and edit a captured or remixed recipe before saving it.
Service providers
Recipe Heaven uses established professional providers with security and compliance programs for hosting, authentication, billing surfaces, payment processing, data sync, and AI processing.
These providers process data for the purposes described here and under their own terms, privacy, and security commitments.
Cookies and storage
Recipe Heaven uses essential browser storage and cookies for sign-in, security, session continuity, app preferences such as your theme, and offline support.
Recipe Heaven does not currently use third-party product analytics. If that changes, this page will be updated and any non-essential tracking will be opt-in.
Payments
Paid plans are managed through Clerk Billing, with Stripe providing payment processing. Recipe Heaven does not store full card numbers.
Billing providers may process payment details, invoices, subscription status, and related identifiers needed to complete purchases, prevent fraud, and comply with payment obligations.
Your choices and rights
You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information by emailing privacy@recipe-heaven.app. Some records may need to be retained where required for security, billing, dispute, or legal reasons.
You are responsible for the information you enter into Recipe Heaven and for keeping your account credentials secure.
Changes
We may update this policy as Recipe Heaven changes. The "Last updated" date shows when the current version took effect.
